| Dear Red Bike User, Red Bike will pause regular operations on January 12, 2024, with plans to re-open service in early spring. This means that stations will be shuttered, and bikes will be unavailable for rent. We will be making significant staff reductions at that time but will keep working in the shop and in the field to repair and prepare for the spring season. As we did through the pandemic pause of 2020, we will work with individual members to extend annual passes or refund purchases on a case-by-case basis. Entering our tenth year of service in this community this is not where we wanted to find ourselves, especially after an exceptional 2023, marked by a record-setting nearly 140,000 rides, 33% of which came from our income-qualified Red Bike Go program. However, like all public transportation options, system revenue alone cannot sustain our operations. Significant contributions from corporate sponsors as well as local and federal grants have enabled us to reach this point, and for that we extend our heartfelt gratitude. We firmly believe that shared micro-mobility through a station-based, non-profit bike share program is a core and critical component of transportation in the Cincy region, and as such deserves stable and continued public investment and support. We will work tirelessly with our partners and stakeholders to establish that support. Understanding the importance of this service to our community, we are committed to finding solutions that work for everyone. Thank you for being an essential part of the Red Bike journey.
