Bagels and Butterflies
Another successful Bagels and Butterflies bike ride in the books! This past Sunday, twelve of us met at Washington Park for delicious bagels, and then hopped on Red Bikes for a fun ride up to Eden Park. Outreach and Engagement Assistant Clare Rachwalski led us to the Krohn Conservatory to see Butterflies in the Meadow. Check out photos from the show here. There were several butterflies that tried to hitch hike out on our hats and cameras. It was an exciting time, and we were thrilled to have so many of you join us. If you were not able to make it, make sure to follow us on social media so you know when we’re riding together again!
Community Routes Roundup
Have you heard? On May 31 we released 44 fun and urban safe community bike routes in partnership with Queen City Bike! These Community Bike Routes span several Cincinnati and NKY neighborhoods and they include bike trails, on-street bike lanes, and low-stress roadways. Download a printable map or send the route to your phone for turn-by-turn directions. Looking to pump up your bike ride with some music? Check out these amazing playlists on Spotify created in collaboration with Cincinnati Music Accelerator. Curate your ride with a perfect playlist of songs to keep you going. Just remember to keep your portable speaker at a moderate volume so that you can safely enjoy the music while keeping aware of your surroundings. And don’t forget to follow us on social media to stay updated on all events and giveaways related to these routes!
Community Events
During riding season, we like to be out there with you! If you’ve attended any community events that we’ve hosted or attended, there’s a good chance we took a photo of you! Find yourself in our photos on social media; we’ve got some amazing shots in our Facebook photo albums. We’d love it if you tagged yourself or your friends. Repost and tag us in return! Thanks for being a part of the Red Bike community.
Walnut Hill’s Expansion
I’m sure you have heard by now that Red Bike is venturing into new neighborhoods. Our four new Walnut Hills stations are sited, community supported, and we’re currently navigating the permitting process. Keep your eyes peeled for updates and a neighborhood launch party in the coming weeks!
