April 2023 Newsletter

Bike Month is Almost Here!

Bike month is approaching, and the bike community cannot wait! Looking for something to do? Red Bike will support multiple activities in the bike community throughout the month! Check out Queen City Bike’scalendar of events  to stay up to date on what is cycling through the bike world.

E-Bikes

On March 30th, we released fifty-two e-bikes for all fifty-two neighborhoods and Cincinnati Reds George Foster’s 52 home runs in his MVP season in 1977! George Arthur Foster was an integral member of the Cincinnati Reds and helped them win two World Series championships, in 1975 and 1976. We are working towards an all e-bike fleet, and with the latest addition of e-bikes, 50% of our fleet is electric. Make sure to follow our monthly newsletter and social media to know when more e-bikes are rolling out.

Earth Day

Red Bike is tabling at the Lick Run Greenway to celebrate Earth Day! We’re cohosting the first Pop-up Bike Shop of the season with Queen City Bike, Tri-State Trails, and MoBo Bicycle Co-op. Residents of Lower Price Hill, South Fairmont, and the Beekman Corridor are encouraged to bring their personal bikes for FREE bike repair. This annual Earth Day event is presented by the South Fairmont Community Council. All ages are welcome to enjoy fun games and yoga.  Leashed pets are welcome too! Secret Stuff

Surprise, Surprise! We’re working on a fun project with our friends at Queen City Bike that we’re excited to share with all of you during Bike Month. We want folks to not only have access to bikes, but to also know where to ride! We hope to make it even easier for you to bike around the city this Summer!

Community Ambassadors

Thank you to all the people in our expansion neighborhoods who applied to our Community Ambassador Program! We have concluded our search for Ambassadors in the Avondale, Evanston, and Walnut Hills neighborhoods. The program searched for non-profit organizations to be the first cohort in those three neighborhoods. Red Bike will be teaching the three Ambassadors about bike infrastructure, bicycle safety, and bike riding opportunities through Red Bike. We’re reviewing applications this month and announcing the grantees in May. Keep an eye on our monthly newsletter and social media channels for updates!
